First Harmony Farms sells quality Border Collies, Miniature American Shepherds, and English Setter Puppies from health tested parents. All health testing about the parents is on their individual sites. We do not usually have adults for sale as our dogs live out their lives as pets here at First Harmony Farms. If we do have any rescues, returns, or other adults become available, they will be listed here as well.

We are located in Tiskilwa, IL. We can set appointments to come see the animals at our home. Please set up an appointment to come and meet them as we are not always at home. email: [email protected]. You can contact us via phone at 815-876-6796.  Tiskilwa, Illinois is located in Central Illinois about two hours from Chicago, an hour from Peoria, and an hour from the Quad Cities.

Raising puppies at FHF:
Go to this page to see how our puppies are raised. Every household is a bit different, but we all try to do the same basics. Puppies at Dawn's and Lisa's get raised with cats as well.

Facebook
Visit our Facebook page for information about Puppy Play times. These are open for anyone looking to meet us, our dogs, and our puppies that are old enough to come out. We also try to post videos and extra pics of the puppies and dogs to the Facebook Page. As picking is happening we will post as puppies are picked. We will post if there are any puppies left available after the deposit list picks which puppies they want. We also have many people come and meet us at shows when we are in their area.

Play times-at our house with puppies and adults to meet:
We try to have a play times at our house or training field each month. These are open to anyone on our deposit list or those hoping to get on our deposit list. This is the perfect time to come and meet our adult dogs and any older puppies we currently have. We try to also have some of our co-owns at these times to meet. We can also do private meetings occasionally, but will not be able to get as many dogs to meet for these.

Shows are a great place to meet some of the adult dogs: Details
Call me if you would like to know what dogs we will have at the different shows and would like to meet them in person. We do not usually take litters to shows, but will take a lot of our up and coming dogs in training as well as the dogs competing.

Prices:
Our puppies are usually $1500 for non breeding homes and varies by puppy and contract for breeding homes at 8-10 weeks old. They are $1600 through Good Dog due to additional fees.  We usually only allow 1-2 pick puppies in each litter to go to breeding homes and most of those stay in our breeding program. Prices include Illinois Sales Tax. Older puppies and adults will have their price listed. The deposit is $500 (cash, check, or Zelle) or $600 through Good Dog and the balance is due, in cash, upon pickup, unless you are going through Good Dog.

Current Deposit list:
Puppy picking begins around 7 weeks old. Only dogs staying in our breeding program and stud picks will be picked before the deposit list. Puppies that are reserved for co-owns and breeders will be labeled as such. Then the deposit list will pick in the order we receive their deposits. On average, we will take 5 deposits per planned litter.  We may get more or less puppies than planned in a litter so the wait does vary a great deal.
We are currently taking deposits for:
Border Collies-5 spots available
Aussies/Minis-6 spots available
English Setters-8 spots available

Picking of the puppies will start around 7 weeks old, starting with our co-owns and then the stud owner. People on the deposit list get the next pick and any left available will be posted to Facebook ASAP. It is easiest if people come and meet the puppies in person before it is time to pick, but we understand that it can be difficult to travel for some owners. We try to have puppy play times between 5-7 weeks old so everyone can play with the puppies in person before picking begins. These are usually on weekends, but some weekends we may not be available. Puppy Play times are posted every week to our Facebook page. I usually know what days we hope to do weeks ahead of time, but will usually plan the time a few days before to accommodate weather. These are great times to come and meet us, the puppies, and the dogs. During picking, we discuss each puppy on the phone and have people pick their puppy over the phone.

Our Border Collies are bred for sports and some are working/herding lines. Our pups have been successful herding, flyball, agility, obedience, rally, disc, dock diving, barn hunt, scent work, trick, therapy, and service dogs.  All litters will be registered with ABCA and/or AKC. Each litter is listed below. Click on the parent's picture or name to get to their individual webpage for more details on them.

Planned Litters for the next year:
Most stud dog choices are up in the air until the girl goes into heat. The timing of breeding does not always allow us to use our first pick of stud dogs. Some of our favorite studs are 24 hours away and traveling with minimal warning does not always work as planned, so a more local backup stud may be used for certain litters. The timing can also postpone a breeding until the next heat, but we do try to keep this up to date.

We raise aussies of a variety of sizes from 11"-20" tall and 7-50#. Our goal for size is 14-16" and 20-25# and most of our pups fall in that range with some outliers. Our pups have been successful herding, flyball, agility, obedience, rally, disc, dock diving, barn hunt, scent work, trick, fastcat, Racing, lure coursing, therapy, and service dogs.  We now register most of  our puppies as Miniature American Shepherds with AKC. We do have an occasional Australian Shepherd or Miniature Australian Shepherd litter, pending the parent's registries. Each litter will say how they will be registered. Each litter is listed below. Click on the parent's picture or name to get to their individual webpage for more details on them.

Available for a show, sport, or co-own home. This boy was easily our favorite in the litter, followed closely by Altoc. We would love to keep him in our program, but can't keep them all. He is a very fun, sporty puppy that loves everyone, Great toy and food drive. He has amazing human focus even around new dogs and situations. He loves to learn new things and is doing great with house training. He loves to tug and is working on his retrieve. He has an excellent recall and is already amazing for sitting before attention or treats, even with young people. He is very gentle taking treats and will listen to anyone. He can sleep through the night and has started sleeping out of his kennel. He has started disc and obedience training. He spends his day in a shop getting socialization and loves all of the people that visit him. He has been socialized with both cats and chickens. He has a beautiful, moderate structure and a gorgeous coat. He is expected to stay between 14-16".

Due early April
This litter is going to be an amazing conformation cross. We are expecting medium to low drive, 15-19", black tri or red tri. These pups should have very social temperaments with great trainability. These will make great pets with lower energy. They should thrive at some sports-obedience, rally, scent work, barn hunt, tracking...

Although we do not purposefully cross breed our dogs, accidents do occasionally happen. We have had 3 litters of Baussies in our program.
