Encore is our pick puppy from the Echo X Ruari litter, and is our daughter, Jordan's, next dog. Encore is a spitting image of her mother and grandmother, down to the cross of her paws. She is extremely food and toy motivated and is a quick learner. She is like a cricket the way she bounces around the house and she already has an obsession with frisbees and squeaker toys. She has started playing with herself when we won't throw toys for her, by throwing things in the air and catching them herself or dropping them over the back of the couch to retrieve. She has a great sense of humor and makes everyone laugh around her. I swear the other dogs even roll their eyes at her. She is an extremely drivey girl, very light footed, quick twitch, and with gorgeous slinky style. She is always in for any game, sport or work. She takes after Ru in that she has no self preservation choosing success over caution. She always gives 100% and is very quick and light on her feet. Her cuddliness is unmatched and she demands that everyone be her best friend-human and dogs alike. Encore is training for Disc and Flyball. She will do some training in Agility and Dock but will not likely compete due to time constraints. Due to Jordan's crazy high school schedule, her training fell to a back burner, but she is now being handled by the other family members since she is just too great a dog to leave out. She has become Lynette's favorite and will hopefully be the dam of our next stud dog.

Disc
|
Encore is a disc queen. Jordan was ecstatic when Encore managed to beat Echo's top Far Out Score at only 5 months old. She is a disc superstar with multiple National Qualifiers and podium placements. Since Jordan has not been able to compete as much, the rest of the family has started competing with her as well.

Since Jordan is unable to do UpDiff next year, Tyler started playing Encore for fun. It was a shame to not let her play so she became a shared dog for UpDog and everyone gets 2-3 runs/day with her. They have been putting in some great scores and she is learning to work for a variety of handlers. Tyler will get her some great Far Out and Time Warp scores since that is his favorite games.

Since Jordan is unable to do UpDiff next year, Tyler started playing Encore for fun. It was a shame to not let her play so she became a shared dog for UpDog and everyone gets 2-3 runs/day with her. They have been putting in some great scores and she is learning to work for a variety of handlers. Levi has started her agility training since Frizgility, Four Way Play, and Spaced out are his favorite games.

Flyball

Encore has started her flyball training. She picked it up extremely quick, but still struggles maintaining a box turn at tournaments with high excitement. She is getting to do a lot of warmups and an occasional heat until she is more consistent with the box minus props. She easily hits 4.0-4.1 with a pass and poor box so we have high hopes if we can get better form and control in a tournament setting.

Dock Dog

Encore loves all water but is still jumping very flat. She has hit 20' as a PB but is usually jumping around 17-19'. She refuses to jump for the reward, preferring to wait for it to hit the water. If we can get her popping, she could consistently hit the 20s. We may try competition in the future if we can get her popping and can find the time.

Trick Dog

Encore is a quick learner and earned her first titles as a puppy. She loves doing new things and picks up on them quickly. Jordan had a blast training her and showing her off to her friends. She loves being the center of attention.

Agility
|
Encore has started her agility training. She has a gorgeous jumping style, although she did take a lot of bars in the beginning when wrapping or on late switches. She watches the handler the entire run so she would occasionally be at an angle that she was almost jumping sideways. She learned to just jump higher to not knock the bars. Now she is steadily coming down and not jumping crazy to clear the jump. She is learning to watch with the corner of her eye instead of a full on stare when we are behind. We have just started contacts and weaves. Running contacts for the dog walk were easy. The A-frame needs work. She can weave 6-10 but will pop out when we hit 12 occasionally. She is very fast like her grandma, Shiver, but much less forgiving of the handler being late with cues. That will come with time and experience. She is mostly training for crossover games in disc, but if Lynette ever starts competing she will be her main dog.
