Echo is our pick Shiver X Hoot puppy. Echo is very sweet and cuddly, just like Shiver. She loves to learn and adores the kids. In fact, Jordan, our 9 year old daughter is in charge of her training and will do the competing with Echo. Jordan’s favorite dog has always been Shiver, so this is her own piece of Shiver to compete with. Echo is larger than Shiv and has TONS of coat. Her structure is amazing and we are hoping she will pass this on to her puppies. Echo loves the ball, frisbee, tug, and swimming. She is like Shiver in that she spends more time in the house with us than she does out playing with the other dogs. She has seen stock and can't wait for her chance to get in with them. She seems to have her mother's style and eye and will, hopefully, have a bit more push in her on harder headed stock. She loves to do tricks and can't go up to anyone without showing off her rolling over, playing dead, or wave tricks. Jordan trained her a ton of tricks as a puppy and she commonly prefers doing those when we are trying new things. She tried out barn hunt and loved it, but I doubt we will find time to do it competitively among all of her other sports. Echo has had some great times in flyball, but had a bad crash early after just a few tournaments, which set back her confidence a great deal. She is no longer our start dog and prefers anchor. Her times are steadily getting back to what they were before the accident and we hope to start seeing some 3s on her soon. Echo has done some agility training, but not enough to say much more than she seems to be a natural like Shiv at picking up handling. She seems to be a natural jumper and loves working distance. Echo broke a toe at 8 months old and that put her training for sports on hold, but she learned some extra tricks in the meantime. Unfortunately, we were unable to keep her cast on long enough and she rebroke the toe. Rather than put her through another 2 months of rest, we elected to amputate that toe. Echo will train for Flyball, agility, herding, dock dog, obedience, rally, trick, and anything else she has interest in. Echo's line will continue through Fin, Aria, and Encore.

Flyball
|
Echo has hit her first few flyball tournaments and did very well. She can run in any position and is learning to run for people other than Jordan. At her 3rd tournament she had a bad crash when the other team's whippit crashed her over the last jump of her run. She has had quite a setback, but is now running low 4s again and will allow some dogs to pass her. Passes both directions are still very loose, but we are working on getting her confidence up at each tournament.

Echo is a natural at Frisbee. She loves air time and believes that every Frisbee, ball, or toy should be caught in the air. She lives to fly over the other dog's heads to catch whatever we are throwing. Jordan has done all of her training and competing. They have officially done their first competition and had a blast. Out of 4 classes they pulled off two 1st places, a 2nd place and a 3rd place. They qualified for Nationals after just one day! Within her first year she has had multiple weekends of 100% catches and some amazing scores. They are becoming an amazing team as Jordan gets smore accuracy and distance with her throws. They have competed at the National and World level and been very competitive at both the Junior and Adult levels of Competition.

Dock Dog
|
Echo has started training for dock dog. As a puppy, we could barely keep her out of the pool. She took to air retrieve training right away and lived for making a big splash. Due to her water obsession and chasing splashes, she ended up with water intoxication as a 2 year old. Since then, she gets very limited pool time. She will still get to do some dock diving, but it will no longer be a main focus for us. Echo has hit her first few trials and is doing great. We are working on getting some pop as she jumps very flat, but is steadily growing with an occasional big jump with better air time.

Echo is training for trick dog. She has earned her first titles. She likes the tricks that require movement and are more active. Her favorites are rolling over and playing dead.

Agility
|
Echo has started her agility training and managed a few Qs at her first tournament. Jordan would love to hit more agility in the future with her, but it ranks below disc, flyball, and dock diving so they may not hit many trials. It will still be something we cross train for other sports and possibly trial more in the future.
