Kia is our clown of the household. She is an extreme character and always makes everyone laugh. Although we hadn't planned to keep her in the beginning, she won us over with her antics and constant tugging on our pants. Kia is an amazingly affectionate dog that loves every person and animal she meets. She is very submissive with other dogs and can get even the smallest dog to get comfortable enough to wrestle with her. She is very quick to learn and lives to please. She is an extremely animated girl, always in quick motion when moving and crazy. She is one of those dogs that acts like a puppy their whole life and never grow up. Kia lives for playing ball and tug and is very quick and athletic. She is actually a very calm setter in the house and a complete couch potato, but once she gets up she is all action. Kia did not turn on to birds as young as her mother (who was obsessed before even weaned). She showed typical pointing as a babe and liked her starter training but didn't truly become obsessed until closer to a year old. Now she LOVES to go out looking for birds and squirrels. She has an amazing nose, great point, and natural soft mouthed retrieve. She is a medium range dog, better for moderate range hunting. Her tail carriage was always straight, but variable enough that it would have taken a lot training to be competitive at trials. She LOVES water and would spend all day in our pool if she could. We have found that swimming is her FAVORITE hobby, followed closely by squirrel hunting with Hasty. She is a very petite setter at 31 lbs which shows in her athletic ability. Kia produced some great hunters and pets, including our Stormy, the fifth generation of setters for First Harmony Farms.

Kia was a great flyball dog. She can run any position for anyone. As long as we never offered her a tug, she ran clean. If you gave her a tug, she would consistently spit the ball. We had more or less limited our competing after she started racing, but she would have easily beaten her mom's records. She has her mothers insane energy and bounce, but was more consistent and quicker.

Kia likes playing frisbee, but was never great at making catches. Those huge setter lips make consistent catches difficult, but she still loves to play. She didn't hit her first competition until she was almost 11, but she had a blast playing Frizgility with Kiera. She is Kiera's favorite dog, so she was the perfect dog to teach a 5 year old to play. She tends to still look to Lynette for direction, but will still play with Kiera. Even as a vet, she is still just a puppy at heart. They even qualified for Nationals their first year out.

Kia is very fast at agility but really hates switches, which makes handling for Lynette extremely difficult. She is too fast to fit in a front cross and only gets switches about 25% of the time so Qs are not always easy. She always has fun on course at least and is willing to do a few zoomies to give Lynette a chance to catch up.
