Epic is our pick puppy from the Dorothy X Strider litter. Strider has always been the perfect dog for our son, Tyler. So when it was Tyler's turn to pick his first puppy, he wanted a mini Strider for himself. We agreed to breed him once for Tyler's puppy and Dorothy fit all of our requirements for a mate. Tyler is learning how to train and handle his own dog with Epic. We had never planned to keep a smooth coat, but Epic reminded us so much of her father in other ways that she eventually won us over. Epic loves to play tug and ball. She is obsessed with chasing the hose and playing in the baby pool. She was a natural for dock diving and lives for any body of water she can find, even the disgusting water on hikes we don't want her in. She is a natural at disc like her sire and will play ball all day. She has amazing athletic ability and would love to do Parkour full time. She is always showing off her ability to bounce off the wall and even the ceiling doing her backflips. She has amazing herding drive like Strider as well and is looking forward to showing it off some day. She has no fear in life and does need us to reel her in at times since she doesn't have any self preservation. Her and Tyler are in perfect sync and are pretty perfectly matched. She was a very crazy pup, but by a year old her gentle side came out. She is a perfect babysitter for kids, toddlers, and even the tiniest of puppies. She is currently competing in disc, dock, flyball and training for agility, trick, and parkour. Epic's line will continue through Escape.

Disc-Tyler
|
Epic started playing UpDog with Tyler before she was a year old. She is quick and great at catching every roller or throw. Time Warp is their favorite game and she has perfected her spit and find the next disc, sometimes a bit too well for other games. She has perfected drop it at a distance, but thinks that is the best part of the game and hates bringing it back or barely grabs it before looking for the next throw. She also loves disc because she lives for huffing paint and rolling in it, giving us a ton of fun painted Epic pictures. There is nothing better than a freshly painted sweet spot to her.

With Tyler being in a cast, it seemed a shame to not let Epic still play some disc so Stu is enjoying some fun runs. She handles and is trained very differently than Stu's other dogs so she is teaching him a ton.

Dock Dog
|
Epic started dock diving at just 4 months old. This girl has no fear. She hit 21' at her first competition and is still growing with each day. She only hit a couple competitions before COVID hit and then dock got bumped from our list of priorities. She is easily our biggest jumping BC, so if we do get out again she will definitely have a chance to play. Unfortunately, there are never enough weekends in a year.

|
Epic has started her flyball career. She is a natural at flyball with a consistent turn and no interest in chasing the other dogs. She was truly a breeze to train and we are looking forward to how she does in the future.

Trick Dog
|
Epic has started some trick dog training. She is quick to learn and is both toy and food motivated. She prefers tricks that involve playing with a toy when possible. She finished her first trick dog title before her first birthday and was just short of the next 3 titles.

Agility

Epic has started her agility training with Tyler. She loves tunnels and is working 2 on 2 off. Tyler has a lot to learn in agility so they are learning together. Due to COVID she never got her agility debut, but still enjoy some obstacles in UpDog. She may get to play some in the future, but agility is not our main priority
