Rubiks is our pick puppy from our Secret X Riot litter. Levi waited an extra year for the perfect Secret puppy for his own next sport dog. Levi fell in love with him at birth and they bonded quickly. Even though Lynette fell in love with Fire, Levi bonded with Rubiks. When he came back genetically clear, it was meant to be. Rubik's has never met a stranger and greets everyone with hugs. He has become the mascot of our clinic and is the favorite one chosen to be in the front office working as a greeter. He loves playing with other dogs if they are friendly, especially chasing Border Collies and wrestling with aussies. He can play gentle with littles but plays hard with his besties, Font and Cabaret. Rubiks has both toy and food drive and will work for either. Rubiks will train for disc, dock, and flyball and may dabble at other sports, pending what Levi has time for. Despite his tiny size, he loves to play like a big dog. He is shorter and more stocky than his parents, but he tries to keep up with the border collies. He doesn't stand a chance with those short legs, but he gets an A+ for effort. Rubiks will be a sire for some litters here at First Harmony Farms in the future.

Disc
|
Rubiks has played a few UpDog games as a pup and even qualified for Nationals and helped us win Bite Club. He had some amazing rounds for a puppy, as well as a few puppy brain rounds. Now that he is a year old he has started doing throws. Rubiks is still learning how to not get under the disc and to not jump up to grab it as Levi is throwing. He tends to do his best the first round and slowly fizzle out so he only plays a few rounds a weekend. He has amazing focus his first run but slowly gets more distracted with further runs, especially if any dogs are tugging since he thinks he should join in any game of tug. Levi and Rubiks are having a ton of fun either way and will hit some competitions this year.

Rubiks has begun his flyball training, but the weather has not been in our favor. He will be our new height dog once he gets up and racing.

Rubiks loves swimming and loves jumping in over the side of the pool. He has started training and has hit 12'. Once we get him jumping up instead of straight down, he should add to that. He hit 5' 3" at his first competition jump while diving straight into the water. Unfortunately he felt the need to stop at the end of the jump and dive right in, but with some more experience at different docks we hope to get him back in the double digits.

|
Rubiks has just started his first agility lessons. Agility is not his main focus, but he needs to know the basics for disc so we will do some of the foundations. We also really like training handling and contacts just to see what their strengths are since so many of our pups go to agility homes.

Conformation
|
Rubiks is too small for AKC Conformation, since he is just a hair under 14". He could show UKC or ASDR, but that will not be our focus with him. He has a very nice body but could use a little more length of leg. He has more bone than the standard calls for. He has a perfect moderate coat. He also has a very short, thick muzzle giving him a perpetual puppy look.
