Pedigree

Desi was the pick puppy from Faith and Tux and from Birchview kennels. Desi is owned and loved by Angie in Iowa. Desi is no longer breeding, but is the Dam of some of our amazing pups: Willo, Lulu, and Nina. Desi is very sweet and has never met a stranger. She is that rare dog that seeks out the kids and lets them play dress up with her. She will sit in a stroller or crib forever just soaking up the attention. She loves to play in the snow like her dam, Faith. She is a soft dog and VERY easy to train. She is very willing to please and is very athletic and fast, but not high energy. After a few runs, she turns into a couch potato. Desi is amazing on the agility field and would have done more if she was here all of the time. She is a quick learner and can run with anyone. She makes everyone laugh with her antics. She prefers to jump twice as high as the first few jumps on the course and bark mid air. By the end she comes down and jumps normal. Lynette hates running barking dogs in agility, but she always had to bark the first few jumps. She does have herding drive, but does not have the natural ability that her mother, Faith, has. She does not read the stock as well and needs a bit more control to not rush. She will swim but does not love it. She loved flyball and playing, but never consistently carried the ball back, especially with the other dogs running at her. She really felt the ball should be optional completely so we never competed with her. Desi LOVES obedience and Rally, but we so rarely show it that she never got far with them. Desi has AMAZING structure and would do amazing in the conformation ring. Unfortunately, she only hit a couple shows to fill classes as a vet. She loved obedience so much that she kept sitting for the handler so did not excel at Conformation. We are letting her offspring show off their skills in the conformation ring instead. Desi continues in her daughters Willo, Lulu, and Nina. 

Conformation

Desi has amazing structure, but does not show herself well in the ring. She prefers sitting for people and getting belly rubs if someone is going to pet her. Despite this, she has managed a few brags in the ring.

Agility

Desi absolutely loves agility. Although I don't have her often enough to become a great teammate with her, she still managed some titles and fast times. Desi can run for anyone and is a riot with her barking and jumping twice as high as the first jump. She is always a blast to watch run.

Disc

Desi was 10 when she hit her first UpDog Competition. Desi will play disc, but only does a few catches before she quits. She has plenty of speed and can do a great catch, but just doesn't love it enough to play often.  Even with only a few catches, she is a great dog for the kids to play with so she came out of retirement to come play.

National Qualifier

Herding

Desi did train for herding. She definitely has the desire to herd, but we didn't get far enough along to see how far she could go. She hit one trial. We have had her on stock a few times since, but have not managed to hit another trial with her.

Rally

Desi LOVES any obedience work. She loves to learn and thinks that obedience is a blast. So much so that the conformation handler had a hard time stopping her from sitting in the ring. We have only managed to hit 1 trial, but hope to hit a few more with her. Our goal is to finish her CD as well as a few rally titles.

Desi is truly a perfect therapy dog. She loves everyone she meets, fears nothing, and is a naturally gentle girl.

Trick Dog

Desi is extremely easy to teach so tricks came fairly easily to her. She is very food motivated so she loves posing for treats.
