Pedigree

Cal is our pick boy from the Jamaica X Sunny litter. We had hoped to breed Echo with Sunny, but due to our crazy life it didn't work out. When Jamaica came into heat a week later, it was the perfect solution. We could not believe our luck with this cross. We swore we wouldn't keep a smooth coat, but Cal demanded we keep him with his drive, structure, and trainability. Not to mention that he stole Megan's heart. Cal will train for sports and live with Megan.
Cal lives for disc and started competing in Spring 2021. He is the quietest dog until he hears the word Frisbee, then the screaming begins. Started with rollers and with a small amount of bite work, he was grabbing flying discs out of the air. He took very little training to start competing in Disc. He is fast and extremely accurate with catches. He has become one of our most competitive disc dogs.
He gives a 100% in training with beautiful focus and enthusiasm. In training classes, his eyes rarely leave his handler. He can be passed on to other handlers and give the same focus and drive. The trainer Megan works with loves Cal and steals him for demos any chance she gets. Cal picks up on tricks or commands very quickly with very few repetitions. He is both food and toy motivated. He has a very nice off switch when it comes time to relax. Overall, he is a chill boy and can be a complete couch potato.
Every dog has faults and so does Cal. He has a strong bite with discs, so cheap frisbees do not last more than one game before they are full of puncture holes throughout the disc. He has a high pitch scream when he is super excited. He loves to shred grill tarps and chew wood chips. He does not shred anything else except for expensive tarps, they must have a fun sound.
Cal is available for stud and will continue his line here with Novel and Tryggr.

Cal lives for disc. Unfortunately, he inherited his mom's ability to puncture every disc he plays with. He has hit his first trials and set some amazing scores, killing it in Time Warp and setting a new local record here. He also was #1 top score in history for Throw n Go in his first year with Megan! He didn't hold the spot long, but he nailed it. Megan does not love disc so after a couple of years she let the kids start playing him some as well. Cal managed multiple podium placements with Tyler in 2024 and set a new Throw N Go Record!

Flyball

Cal has started his flyball career and is did great at his first tournament! He managed multiple 4.0s with room in the pass yet. His box started to fall apart, so we will still be doing a lot of warmups with him and see if we can get his striding back. We are still perfecting his box and passing, but hope to see sub 4 soon.

Fast Cat

Cal hit his first fast cat and had fun. Megan is hoping to hit a few more competitions to see how fast he can really go.

Cal has started training in Dock Dog and hopes to compete. So far, he jumps v ery flat so he is only hitting teens. We hope to train air retrieve this year.

Cal has just begun training in agility. He is quick to learn and a beautiful jumper. He learned running dogwalk very quickly, but A frame needs some work. Unfortunately, with our show schedule we may not be hitting as many trials as we did in the past.
